Resources and Support Services
The Global Schools Resource and Support
Services aims to provide effective support for all aspects of
the global dimension in education for schools across the YHGSA
region.
The service seeks to ensure that
all those teachers and student teachers in the YHGSA region
wishing to access development education resources can do so
by whichever means is most convenient and appropriate to them.
And, those wishing to incorporate development education resources
and approaches into their curricula can obtain the advice required
to make appropriate choices.
The Global Schools Resources and
Support Services will provide teachers and student teachers
access to these services through the following means:
A
Regional Resource Fulfilment Service
To supply teachers and student teachers with the resources they
require to incorporate a global dimension into their teaching.
Resources can be purchased from the service, Go-Global Resources,
either through the Regional Resources Database, on the Global
Schools website www.yhgsa.org.uk. or through order forms in
the Regional Inspection Boxes.
New Resource Outposts
Two new resources outposts are being established in North Yorkshire
to provide teachers and student teachers with access to resources
in northern part of the region. For up to date information contact
the Advisory Group members for the North Yorkshire area.
Regional Inspection Boxes
Inspection boxes of recommended resources have been compiled
for advisors and advisory teachers across the Yorkshire and
Humber region to use during training sessions, Curriculum Coordinator
meetings and to take into schools. Inspection boxes currently

Regional
Resources Database
A database of all resources available to teachers across the
region is being compiled and linked to the Global Schools Association
website, www.yhgsa.org.uk . The on-line resources database will
provide teachers with information about all resources available
for purchase or loan, from Resources Centres or Go-Global Resources,
in Yorkshire and Humber.

Southern
Artists Database
A database of southern artists has been compiled and linked
to the Global Schools Association website, www.yhgsa.org.uk.
The database provides teachers with information about how southern
artists in the region can contribute to bringing a global dimension
to their schools educational provision.
YHGSA recommends that teachers thinking
about inviting a southern artist into their school take up references.
YHGSA can not take responsibility for the quality of work of
the southern artists on the database.
Regional Advisory
Group
A group of experienced Development Education workers in the
region who can provide teachers with advice about incorporating
Development Education resources and approaches into their curricula.
