The Teacher's Zone

The Teachers' Zone provides a growing range of resources and information designed to enable teachers in the region to provide a Global Dimension to Education in their schools wherever they are. The links below and on the left will take you to the resources and services available.

Resources and Support Services
The YHGSA Resources and Support Service aims to ensure that all those teachers and student teachers in the region wishing to access development education resources can do so by whichever means is most convenient and appropriate to them. And, those wishing to incorporate development education resources and approaches into their curricula can obtain the advice required to make appropriate choices.

Continuing Professional Development
The aim of the CPD Programme is to support teachers and educators in providing the entitlement of all young people in the region to global education. The Association is working with other providers of in service courses to ensure that teachers across the region can access curriculum and key stage provision which will enhance their understanding of content and pedagogy.

North - South Linking
The North South Linking Service aims to support schools in Yorkshire and Humber region, in delivering sustainable North South links that empower pupils at both ends of the links, to act as responsible global citizens able and committed to shaping the world of the future in the interests of all.

Curriculum Development
The Curriculum Development Programme aims to support schools seeking to bring a Global Dimension to their curricula through the provision of Global Steps Grants and to recognise the achievements of schools in theis area through Global Schools Awards.

Information on the eight key concepts that are inherent in the global dimension to the curriculum, which underpin subject areas and help clarify what the global dimension means.
