Become a member of the Association

The Yorkshire and Humber Global Schools Association has been set up to enhance provision for the Global Dimension in our region for primary, secondary and special schools. This is in response to a national initiative by the Department for International Development (DFID) and similar activities have been taking place in other regions and countries of the UK.

The YHGSA employs a Co-ordinator who reports to the YHGSA Board. A number of Working Groups carry out a range of activities in agreement with the overall objectives established by the DFID. The Association is registered at Companies House as a limited charitable company and has a constitution based on a model supplied by the Charity Commission. The Association also has a membership of interested individuals who although not able to benefit financially from our activities welcome the opportunity to be kept in touch with the activities of the Association. A member of the YHGSA can expect:

  • To receive news and updates direct to their school or home address
  • To receive other information relating to the Global Dimension in education
  • To be able to influence the direction of the Association through regular contact with the co-ordinator, by having voting rights at the AGM or by joining the Consultative Committee

Membership is free. If you are interested in the future work of the Association, and would like an Application Pack, please e-mail Ray Kirtley with the following information:
