The International Resource Centre for Schools and
Colleges at the University of Hull
This is the host organization for the YHGSA. The International Resource
Centre also manages the British Council Regional Network for International
Learning which works in close partnership with the YHGSA.

Leeds Development Education Centre
Leeds DEC is an educational charity that aims to raise awareness of global
sustainable development issues with people in West Yorkshire. They have
a wide range of resources for primary and secondary teachers and youth
workers available for sale or loan. Training can be provided on a range
of global development and environmental issues. Current educational projects
including Global Schools, Positively Global, Earth Summit and Just Linking.
South Yorkshire Development Education Centre
The Development Education Centre (South Yorkshire), DEC(SY), works with
teachers and others involved in education, promoting a development and
global perspective in the curriculum. Using active learning methods, based
on enquiry into issues and ideas, DEC(SY) aims to help people to develop
the skills and commitment to work together to bring about a more just
world.
Hull Development Education Centre
Hull DEC aims to: raise awareness of global issues, human rights, the
environment, North-South issues of poverty and the struggle for change:
racial and cultural diversity; to promote educational good practice; to
provide information and materials to assist teachers, students, pupils,
facilitators and other workers in the voluntary sector and social services;
to provide Development Education training, particularly for informal,
inter-active work, and opportunities to work with representatives of ethnic
communities. The centre serves Hull, the East Riding and Humber area.
Centre for Global Education
The Centre for Global Education was established in 1982 and moved to York
St John University in 1993. It is an independent, non-profit, curriculum
development centre. The Centre works locally, nationally and internationally
with teachers, teacher educators and student teachers to introduce global
issues into their teaching. The Centre encourages active participation
by children in learning around the broad aim of “education for a
just future”. The Centre coordinates North/South school linking
across the region of Yorkshire and Humberside.

Global Teacher Project
The Global Teacher Project is working in Initial Teacher Education and
Training, to support the inclusion of a global dimension in course content,
and to promote global education throughout the training of teachers.
NGO Links
Oxfam - Cool Planet
Cool Planet is primarily intended for teachers in England, Scotland and
Wales and their students. It aims to bring the global dimension to the
classroom, using the concept of Global Citizenship.
The new Oxfam Education website
Oxfam’s Cool Planet for teachers has been relaunched as Oxfam Education. The website a fresh new look and new search options to make it even easier for teachers to find everything they need to take a global approach across the curriculum.
UNICEF
The UNICEF Education Team aims to provide expertise on children's rights
and global citizenship for young people, and those involved in their education,
through classroom sessions, staff training and high quality resources.
We are working towards a rights-based world in which all children are
enabled to fulfill their full potential.
Christian Aid - Global Gang / Planet Teacher
On the Planet teacher page of the Global Gang website you will find everything
you need to bring global issues into the classroom. Each topic on the
left is explored through classroom activities and lesson plans, background
info on the countries and issues covered, plus pupil worksheets you can
print out.

WWF - wwflearning
wwflearning aims to provide educators and learners alike with an innovative
communications point for global news, opinion and curriculum projects.
Although designed primarily for teachers and students in the UK, we hope
that many of the projects and services offered will be of wider interest
